The End to This Chapter

The term has come to an end and it was a great 10 weeks. Over the last 10 weeks I was provided a lot of great information about what my mind could do, what affects and steps we must take to make that change. In Unit 3 we were asked to evaluate ourselves on psychological, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

My physical was not a very high rating and although I’m still working on that part of my life I feel I’m getting better. Since being back in my hometown I have lost a total of 15 pounds. Not much but it’s a great start. I have change my daily schedule up a bit so that I make sure I have the time to attend the gym at least 5 days a week. It didn’t go so well for me this week as I had quite a few things pop up but I not going to let that stop me completely.

My psychological is getting better as well. I’m able to remember and focus on task more clearly than before. I remember going back to work after having my baby and I would catch myself sitting at my desk wondering what in the world was I suppose to do?!?! Now I see myself going into work and having everything in order for my day. I’m able to keep a steady pace with my task and get a full day of work in. Now I still have those times where I just stop and ask myself “what are you doing?” Sometimes I remember and sometimes I don’t but I do not do it as often.

My spiritual is still low because I have not taken the steps I feel I needed to in order to make that side of me complete. I have started doing some things but I definitely still have work to do.

Through out the past 9 weeks I had to set goals for myself and I feel I have gotten closer in to some of them. My physical goal is getting closer because I still make it a point to go to the gym. I may not work out as long as I had plan but I tell myself “at least you made it to the gym for some kind of workout”. My relaxation time is becoming a routine for me. I do take a few minutes each night to just shut my eyes and just let everything go. Sometimes I go along to one of the audio clips I have, other times I listen to a relaxation app I have on my computer and there are a few night I just sit and listen to the quietness around me. Sometimes, that to me seems to do more for me than anything else. So I do feel I have not accomplished the goals but I have gotten closer.

So all in all this course has helped me start my journey down a self-rewarding path to a better life. I do feel less stress, I enjoy my life and the things that go on in it more and I have a more positive outlook on everything. Because even though I knew I need to change the way I was living my life I wasn’t sure how. After completing this course I will know that it’s not a simple fix but a complete life change and it takes time.
